IT'S TIME FOR A FILMY, FRUITY SUMMER!

SATURDAY 24TH JULY, 3pm - FREE ENTRY
FRUIT, 62 - 63 HUMBER STREET, HULL, HU1 1TU

Hull Film is delighted to present its first screening at Fruit; the first in what will hopefully be a successful and continued run of weird and wonderful films to be shown at this new and exiting venue.

As you will gather, we thought we'd be clever and go for a fruit & veg themed opening weekend, and what better film to show than...

Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes! (Dir: John De Bello, 1978)

After a wave of reports of mysterious attacks involving people and pets being eaten by the traditionally docile fruit, a special government task force is set up to investigate the violent veggies and put a stop to their murderous spree. Included in this crack team are a lieutenant who never goes anywhere without his parachute, an underwater expert who's never out of his scuba gear, and a master of disguise who conceals his appearance by dressing as a black Adolf Hitler.

This cult classic is a must for anyone who has not experienced it before, and those who have, will be sure to delight in a very rare non-theatrical screening here in our fair city.

Prior to the Feature, we will screen the short film ‘A Street Named Humber' directed by former Hull Film Director, Esther Johnson.

Insights are gleaned from the individual memories of a microcosm of people from a vibrant and historic Yorkshire market street. A Street Named Humber reflects on concerns of regeneration and a cities heritage; of the traditions of the past and a changing future.

"An elegy to a Hull street market which, in an understated way, questions the price of inner city regeneration." - Phillip Gillett, Offscreen
